What Should I Bring To Rehab?

Entering Aloha Detox Center can prove to be a very exciting yet unsettling time for some. But their apprehension must fade upon arrival so that they may focus solely on getting well. To achieve this, clients are encouraged to begin thinking ahead of time about the things they might need to bring with them when staying at Aloha Detox Center.

The following items are generally encouraged to bring along when one goes to rehab:

Seasonal Clothing:

Aloha Detox suggests that patients pack their belongings in bags that can last for more than a week. Facts show that temperatures often change from daytime to nighttime and it’s good to pack items that can be worn easily with other pieces so you can stay comfortable during your recovery period. A good sleep set, such as a sleep shirt and shorts, should be included in this too so you can rest comfortably at night.

Toiletries:

You should bring your hygiene items from home to rehab. Many facilities will request that you bring them new or unopened. Toiletries should include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrush, basic makeup and a hairbrush. A hairdryer can be beneficial – but is not required by most treatment clinics.

Identification:

We will need your identification upon arrival. And, due to this, it’s important to be sure you have a state or federally-issued ID on hand at all times during your stay in rehab. Additionally, we will record the name of everyone who enters its program for their records, so make sure to claim your space by bringing your insurance card with you too.

Medications:

To ensure the effectiveness of medications you have been prescribed by your doctor, you may continue using them during your treatment at a rehab center. For any prescriptions to be effective as needed, the clinical team needs the actual pills in a pill bottle with the original label on it. Sometimes it is also good if a person arrives at a program with a list of all medications that they were on previously.

List of important phone numbers:

When you go to rehab it can be frightening and worrisome for your family. For them to let you have as much contact as possible, we will often want a list of who we should reach out to in an emergency or if anything else comes up throughout the treatment process.

What can I not bring to rehab?

When packing for rehab, it’s important to be prepared. But there are certain items you should leave behind.

Food and drinks:

The food provided in rehab is planned by nutritionists and made with seasonal ingredients. Please do not bring outside food and beverages to the rehab center.

Weapons:

Any weapon capable of causing harm to others including guns, knives, ninja stars, and even toys like baseball bats will not be permitted in the rehab center.

Drugs or alcohol:

It’s not only illegal to bring alcohol and drugs into rehab but it’s also dangerous because these substances can affect you as you’re trying to recover.

Alcohol-based products:

Ensure that you leave any alcohol-based products at home(Nail polish remover, perfumes, and deodorants for instance).

Expensive jewelry or cash:

In case you happen to have a few dollars pocketed away, it is most likely best to leave them at home because they can easily get misplaced by accident or stolen. Similarly, jewelry that is worth a small fortune should be left behind as well.

Packing for rehab can be challenging when not know what you’re allowed to bring. It’s okay to ask questions and seek clarification on what you need to be brought there throughout your stay at rehab.
